How to make a seamlessly looping GIF emoji
Choose effects, adjust speed, and save a GIF, with tips on frames, colors, and dimensions to reduce file size.
1. Prepare text or an image
On the home page, enter a short phrase in the text tab or choose a picture in the image tab. Break long phrases into lines and keep the important part of an image inside the square canvas. Set a clear contrast between the text outline and background so the result stays readable in motion.
2. Choose an animated effect
Select an effect such as marquee scrolling, neon, blinking, or rainbow from the effect list. Images can also use motion such as shaking or spinning. Start with one effect, then check that text or faces remain visible when combining several.
3. Adjust speed and inspect the loop
Adjust the speed and watch the preview repeat two or three times. The repeating effects here are drawn around a complete cycle so the last frame can flow naturally into the first. Check the saved loop yourself when layering an uploaded GIF or several different movements.
4. Choose a platform and save a GIF
Select the output dimensions and GIF file-size target, then use the Save GIF button. Rendering and encoding happen in your browser, so keep the tab open until the download is ready. Check the saved file size and playback before uploading it to your platform.
5. Reduce frames, colors, or dimensions
Fewer frames usually reduce file size but can make movement less smooth, while fewer colors can flatten gradients. With a Slack or Discord file-size target selected, this tool tries reducing colors and, when necessary, sampling fewer frames across the full cycle. You can choose simpler artwork and effects or reduce output dimensions; if the tool cannot meet the limit, change the design and save again.
6. Review at chat size
Chat emoji appear smaller than the preview, so short text and simple silhouettes are easier to recognize. Slow down distracting movement and reduce blinking if playback feels uncomfortable. Platform policies and GIF requirements can change, so check the official help below and confirm the result with an actual upload.
