Make a neon text GIF emoji

Make glowing neon text GIF emoji for Slack and Discord. Pick a short phrase and bright color, adjust the glow speed, and check readability before saving.

The neon effect surrounds letters with light and gently changes its brightness. The breathing glow gives a short greeting or highlighted phrase the feel of a lit sign.

How to make it

  1. Enter the words to light up

In the text tab, enter a short phrase such as “welcome” or “OPEN.” Pick a bold font and bright text color, leaving room around the letters for the glow.

  2. Choose neon and effect speed

Select neon and adjust effect speed. Watch both the bright and dim portions of the cycle to make sure the glow does not obscure the letter shapes.

  3. Save at your platform size

Choose the Slack or Discord 128×128 output size and GIF file-size target, then save a GIF. If the background is transparent, inspect the downloaded result against both light and dark backgrounds.

Tips for a clear emoji

Try neon for welcome messages or late-night reactions. Reduce the text size if the glow is clipped at the edges, and slow the effect if the brightness changes feel busy. If the glow gradients produce a large file, simplify the background or remove other effects.
